February is the month we celebrate love. The focus is usually on the love we have for one another. But, please allow me to digress just a little bit. I want to discuss a love that's been around from the beginning of time. I'm talking about God's love. The Bible tells us that God is love. It's a simple yet profound statement that resonates all through the Holy Scriptures. And although God's love is accepted as a universal concept to be explored, there are many who have not received His love personally.
I can remember as a child going to Sunday School and singing songs like "Jesus Loves The Little Children". Throughout the years, I've come to understand the depth of His love for me. God's love is very real and endures through the good and bad times in our lives. His love endures even when we don't acknowledge Him. Is it arduous to wrap your head around the fact that God loves you? The Almighty God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Creator of creatures great and small—He loves you. He loves you everyday, all day long, 24/7, 365 days of the year. And in return, He wants your love and devotion. So, take time today to give God thanks for his everlasting love for you.
